Terms of Use

Effective August 19, 2026

These Terms of Use govern your use of Morsebound, an independent educational Morse code application by iCharles. By using Morsebound, creating an account, or continuing to use its services, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

1. Educational purpose

Morsebound is designed for education and practice. It is not an emergency communications service, certified radio service, professional training certification, or guarantee of any particular learning outcome.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining control of your sign-in credentials and for activity performed through your account. Do not attempt to access another user’s account or cloud data. You may use Morsebound without an account where the app provides an explicit local/offline option.

3. Acceptable use

You may use Morsebound for lawful personal learning and educational purposes. You may not use the service to interfere with its infrastructure, bypass access controls, intentionally damage the service, abuse authentication systems, distribute malware, or violate applicable law.

4. Your learning data

Your learning progress remains your user data. When cloud sync is enabled, you authorize Morsebound and its service providers to process that data only as needed to provide authentication, synchronization, restoration, security, and related app functionality, as described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Account deletion

You may delete your cloud account from inside Morsebound or use the public Account & Data Deletion resource to request deletion when you no longer have access to the app.

6. Intellectual property

Morsebound’s name, original interface, original code, original learning/game design, and original written materials are owned by their respective creator or licensors. Third-party libraries, services, trademarks, and platform components remain subject to their respective licenses and rights.

7. Availability and updates

Morsebound may be changed, improved, updated, suspended, or discontinued. Features can differ between Web and Android. Cloud or third-party services may also experience outages or changes outside Morsebound’s control.

8. No warranty

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Morsebound is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every purpose. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.

9. Limitation of responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the developer is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from reliance on the app, service interruptions, loss of local data, third-party service failures, or use of Morsebound outside its intended educational purpose.

10. Third-party services

Morsebound can use Google Firebase, Google Sign-In, GitHub, GitHub Pages, Android platform services, and other open-source dependencies. Your use of those services may also be subject to their applicable terms and policies.

11. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as Morsebound changes. Material updates will be published on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by applicable law.
